What is User?
- User
- A User in ERPNext is a login account that grants access to the system, assigned one or more Roles that determine which modules and documents they can access.
Creating Users
Go to Settings → User → New. Enter email, full name, and assign Roles (e.g., Accounts User, Sales Manager, HR User). Send an invitation email so the user sets their password. Users can be linked to Employee records for HR access.
User Permissions and Restrictions
Add User Permissions under Settings → User Permissions to restrict a user's view to specific companies, branches, territories, or cost centres. This ensures multi-location staff see only their own data without needing separate ERPNext sites.
