- Lot Traceability (also called Batch Traceability) tracks the complete journey of a batch of goods from raw material receipt through production to customer delivery for quality and recall management.
Forward and Backward Traceability
Forward traceability: given a raw material batch, find all finished goods produced from it and which customers received them. Backward traceability: given a customer complaint about a finished goods batch, trace back to the raw material batch and other products that used the same input.
