What is Stock Entry?

Stock Entry
A Stock Entry in ERPNext records any internal movement of stock — receipts, issues, transfers between warehouses, or manufacturing consumption and production.

Stock Entry Types

Navigate to Stock → Stock Entry → New. Choose the Purpose: Material Receipt (goods in), Material Issue (goods out for consumption), Material Transfer (between warehouses), Manufacture (consume raw materials, produce finished goods), or Repack.

Impact on Accounts and Valuation

Each Stock Entry posts to the Stock Ledger and updates the moving average (or FIFO) valuation rate. If perpetual inventory is enabled, ERPNext also posts the corresponding accounting entries to the Stock In Hand and expense accounts.
