What is Item?
- Item
- An Item in ERPNext is the master record for any product, raw material, service, or asset that your business buys, sells, or manufactures.
Item Master Configuration
Go to Stock → Item → New. Set the Item Code, Item Name, Item Group, UOM, and whether it is maintained in stock (Has Serial No, Has Batch No). The Item master controls buying, selling, manufacturing, accounting, and taxation settings in one place.
Item Variants and Templates
For products with multiple sizes or colours, use Item Templates with Attributes (Size: S/M/L, Colour: Red/Blue). ERPNext generates Item Variants automatically. Each variant inherits settings from the template but can override price and stock independently.
