What is Plant Maintenance?

- ERPNext's Plant Maintenance module schedules preventive and reactive maintenance tasks for equipment, tracking asset health and downtime to reduce production interruptions.
Setting Up Maintenance
Go to Maintenance → Maintenance Schedule → New. Define assets (linked to ERPNext Asset records), maintenance tasks, and recurrence (daily, weekly, monthly). ERPNext auto-creates Maintenance Visits on the due date for the assigned technician.
Reactive Maintenance
For unexpected breakdowns, create a Maintenance Request. The system converts it into a Maintenance Visit. Track downtime hours and repair costs against each asset. The Asset Maintenance Log provides a full maintenance history for warranty and insurance purposes.
