What is E-Waybill (India)?
- E-Waybill (India)
- E-Waybill is an electronic document required for the movement of goods valued above ₹50,000 within or between states in India, generated from the GST portal before the goods are dispatched.
E-Waybill Requirements
An e-waybill is mandatory for: goods value > ₹50,000 moving by road, rail, air, or vessel. The consignor, consignee, or transporter can generate it. Required fields: GSTIN of parties, HSN codes, vehicle number, place of despatch and delivery, and distance. Valid for 1 day per 100 km (for regular cargo).
E-Waybill Integration in ERPNext
ERPNext's India Compliance app generates e-waybills from Delivery Notes or Sales Invoices, populating fields from the document data. The 12-digit waybill number is stored on the delivery document. Transporters can update vehicle number (Part B) via the EWB portal if the vehicle changes en route.
