What is Delivery Note?
- Delivery Note
- A Delivery Note in ERPNext records the dispatch of goods to a customer, reducing stock from the warehouse and serving as the document for the transporter.
Creating a Delivery Note
Navigate to Stock → Delivery Note → New, or create from a submitted Sales Order. The system fetches items, quantities, and warehouse from the order. Select Serial/Batch numbers if tracked. On submission, stock is deducted and the Sales Order status updates to Delivered.
Delivery Note and Sales Invoice Link
After delivery, create a Sales Invoice directly from the Delivery Note to avoid re-entering item details. ERPNext links both documents so the customer ledger, stock, and revenue are all updated in the correct sequence.
