What is Task?
- Task
- A Task in ERPNext is an individual work item within a Project, with assignee, priority, expected hours, status, and dependency tracking.
Managing Tasks
Go to Project → Task → New or add tasks directly inside the Project form. Set the Subject, Status (Open/Working/Pending Review/Completed), Priority, and expected time. Assign to an Employee or User. Tasks can be grouped in a hierarchy with parent-child relationships.
Gantt Chart and Kanban
View project tasks in Gantt Chart mode (visualising timeline and dependencies), Kanban mode (drag-drop by status), or Calendar mode. The Gantt view auto-calculates end dates based on expected hours and workdays, showing the critical path.
