What is Profit and Loss Statement?

Profit and Loss Statement
The Profit and Loss Statement in ERPNext summarises income and expenses for a period, showing your net profit or loss from operations.

Running the P&L Report

Go to Accounting → Profit and Loss Statement. Choose the date range, company, and cost centre filter. ERPNext groups accounts by their type (Income/Expense) and shows period vs cumulative figures.

Budget vs Actual Analysis

When budgets are set in ERPNext, the P&L report shows Budget, Actual, and Variance columns. This allows managers to spot overspending by cost centre or project without exporting to Excel.
