- The General Ledger in ERPNext is the master record of all accounting entries across every account, providing a complete audit trail of transactions.
Viewing the General Ledger
Navigate to Accounting → General Ledger. Filter by Account, Party, Cost Centre, Project, Date Range, and Voucher Type. Each row shows the voucher reference, date, debit/credit, and running balance.
Using GL for Audits and Reconciliation
The General Ledger is the authoritative source for audits. You can drill down from any GL row to the source document (Invoice, Payment, Journal Entry). Export to Excel for external auditors directly from the report.
