What is Exchange Rate Revaluation?

Exchange Rate Revaluation
Exchange Rate Revaluation in ERPNext recalculates the home-currency value of open foreign-currency balances at period-end using the latest exchange rate.

Running Exchange Rate Revaluation

Go to Accounting → Exchange Rate Revaluation → New. Select the company and date. ERPNext fetches all accounts with foreign-currency balances and recalculates them at the specified date's exchange rate. Submit to post forex gain/loss entries.

Forex Gain and Loss Accounts

The revaluation posts to the Unrealised Forex Gain/Loss account (a P&L account). When the invoice is eventually paid, the realised gain/loss replaces the unrealised entry. This complies with AS 11 / Ind AS 21 requirements for Indian businesses.
