- Accounting Dimensions in ERPNext let you tag transactions with custom attributes (Branch, Product Line, Region) beyond Cost Centre and Project for multi-axis reporting.
Creating Custom Dimensions
Go to Accounting → Accounting Dimension → New. Select the document type to use as a dimension (e.g., Branch or Territory). ERPNext adds a field for this dimension on all transaction documents, and financial reports gain a filter for it.
Dimension-Based Financial Reports
After tagging transactions, run P&L or Balance Sheet filtered by your custom dimension. For example, view profitability by Branch or Product Line without needing separate companies or cost centres for each.
