What is Lost Reason?

Lost Reason
Lost Reason in ERPNext captures why a Quotation or Opportunity was not won, enabling win/loss analysis to improve sales strategy.

Configuring Lost Reasons

Go to CRM → Lost Reason → New. Create reasons like "Price Too High", "Went to Competitor", "No Budget", "Specification Mismatch". When marking a Quotation or Opportunity as "Lost", the sales person selects one or more reasons.

Win/Loss Analysis

Filter the Quotation or Opportunity report by Lost Reason to identify your biggest friction points. If "Price Too High" dominates, review your pricing strategy. If "Went to Competitor" is common, investigate competitor offerings.
