- GSTIN (GST Identification Number) is the 15-digit tax registration number stored on Company, Customer, and Supplier masters in ERPNext for GST compliance.
GSTIN Configuration
Enter your company GSTIN in the Company master under Tax and Regulatory Information. Store customer and supplier GSTINs in their master records. ERPNext validates the GSTIN format (15 characters, state code prefix) and uses it to determine tax type (IGST or CGST+SGST) based on place of supply.
GSTIN Verification
The India Compliance app can verify GSTINs against the GST Portal API in real time, confirming the taxpayer name and registration status. This prevents invoicing to cancelled or invalid GSTINs, protecting ITC eligibility.
