What is Finance Book?

Finance Book
A Finance Book in ERPNext allows you to maintain parallel books of accounts — for example, one for statutory reporting and another for management accounts.

Creating Finance Books

Go to Accounting → Finance Book → New. Name it (e.g., "Tax Books", "IFRS Books"). When recording depreciation or certain journal entries, select the Finance Book. Financial reports can then be filtered by Finance Book.

Use Cases for Finance Books

Common uses include maintaining separate depreciation schedules (SLM for tax, WDV for management), running GAAP vs IFRS parallel books, or keeping a separate book for management reporting with different allocation rules.
