- An ERP Sandbox is a test environment that mirrors the production system, used for training, testing configurations, and validating customisations without affecting live data.
Using the ERP Sandbox
A sandbox is a copy of the production database refreshed periodically. Implementation teams use it for: UAT (User Acceptance Testing), training without risking real data, testing custom scripts and reports, and validating year-end closing procedures before running them in production.
ERPNext Staging Sites
In ERPNext, create a staging site alongside production on the same bench. Use "bench --site staging.mycompany.com restore backup.sql.gz" to refresh from a production backup. For Frappe Cloud, staging sites can be provisioned with one click from the Frappe Cloud dashboard.
