What is Rework?
Rework occurs when a manufactured item fails quality inspection and needs additional processing. ERPNext handles rework via a new Work Order on the defective item.
Stock Movement
Defective items are transferred to a rework warehouse, a new Work Order is raised, and upon completion the corrected items move back to the finished goods warehouse.
Cost Tracking
Rework costs (labor, materials consumed) are tracked separately, allowing management to measure the true cost of quality failures and prioritize process improvement.
