Running a Fit-Gap Analysis
Document all current business processes and requirements as user stories (e.g., "As a purchase manager, I need to approve POs above ₹1L"). Test each requirement against the ERP's standard features. Mark as Fit (standard covers it), Partial Fit (configuration needed), or Gap (customisation needed).
Acting on Gaps
For each gap, evaluate: can the business change its process to fit the ERP (preferred), can it be solved with configuration, or does it require custom development? Large numbers of code-level gaps are a red flag — either the ERP is wrong for the business or the business needs process redesign.
